As chiropractors, we are often asked about pain in the neck and back. These issues relate to the spine, but most people fail to realize the importance of the feet in relation to the spine. You walk, sit, run, stand, all throughout the day. Sometimes you wear shoes that don't quite fit, or are brutal on your feet, and then wonder why you suffer from back pain. Give your feet the love and appreciation you deserve! Here's what you need to know:

Your Feet Enable Movement

Can you guess how many muscles, tendons, and ligaments are in your feet? Over 100! What about how many bones? It's 52! With so much going on in your feet, it is vital to take care of them.

Properly Caring for your Feet

Pain is usually an indication of bigger issues. For example, plantar fasciitis showcases itself through pain, but it is a result of neglecting your feet. Here's what you can do to prevent the issue:

  • Wear comfortable shoes

  • Use arch supports

  • Walk on soft surfaces whenever possible (i.e. avoid concrete!)

  • Visit your chiropractor regularly
